Not only was this event awesome, but Phoenix and KOAO lifted audiences hopes and excitement.

“Wilson had the ability to rouse laughter and make performers feel comfortable on stage, encouraging the audience to help him along. His performances included snippets of gospel songs and offered insight into his personal life,” the Daily Orange reported about the event.

Seneca and Lanika both shared their lives, their love for the art of spoken word and their love for God with a new audience tonight. Thanks for the love and support along the way to everyone that attended or wanted to attend.

Gospel Open Mic featuring Senca "Kind Of A One" Wilson and Lanika "Phoenix" Mabrey at Community Folk Arts Center

Thursday, January 19 2012 at 6:30PM come Get More Love at Community Folk Arts Center’s Gospel Open Mic.  This production by Joan Hillsman Music Network will fill your Third Thursday with inspiration and soul. The Underground Poetry Spot will be featuring Seneca “Kind of a One” Wilson and Lanika “Phoenix” Mabrey.

Adults are $5 and students are $2 with ID. Let this King Holiday and New Year be about more than just dreams, but in how we find strength and creativity to live, recite and sing those dreams out.

My name is Devon, which i’ve heard means Poet. I’m Submitting two poems via a url address to an open mic night performance of mine on youtube.
