Phoenix and KOAO lifted audiences hopes and excitement.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Community Folk Arts Center to show love to Joan Hillsman Music Network and Underground Poetry Spot’s Seneca “Kind of a One” Wilson and Lanika “Phoenix” Mabrey.

Not only was this event awesome, but Phoenix and KOAO lifted audiences hopes and excitement.

“Wilson had the ability to rouse laughter and make performers feel comfortable on stage, encouraging the audience to help him along. His performances included snippets of gospel songs and offered insight into his personal life,” the Daily Orange reported about the event.

Seneca and Lanika both shared their lives, their love for the art of spoken word and their love for God with a new audience tonight. Thanks for the love and support along the way to everyone that attended or wanted to attend.

In the meantime, keep giving more love,

The Underground Family

P.S. See you for our opening 2012 show on Feb 2. 2012 at the Warehouse!

Eternity
I came to the life with big smile
As the woman pulled my bloody head from uterus said
But I will leave it loaded by screams
Without recognizing I walked like blind to disaster edge
I followed my desire to catch the eternity like Gilgamesh
I saw everything in ancient Ure from witched woman to snack that stole eternity flower
I saw the blood in the streets and my pears that died in the war
The phoenix when stood up from the ash
I saw everything and nothing
I saw Jan dark crossed with Christ
And Neuron burning Arab spring
I played the flute in the life song
I watered the desert by existence secret
I saw the ocean sleeping in your eyes
And the exiles resident in your heart
I saw you putting the childhood on the sunbed
And as long as i followed the stretched horizon to the impossible
And as long as I have hold the morning sleeping in the arms of happiness
And as I followed your steps
Suddenly You disappeared from my life
Why did you throw the planet in my road and disappeared
Why you put the ash on my lips and disappeared
Why you didn’t scatter light on my heart
Why not paint your profile to follow you even to alienation
Remember I do walk to your island
But I couldn’t catch your waves or pearls
Remember I wish to be there on your heaven
But you rushed to your paradise
My wishes cannot stop your desire to leave
I couldn’t satisfy you to go back to my lap
My word cannot cut the cord wrapped around your destination
So hit the road, leave
But never forget to tell me (I am the blind man that wait you dozens of years) the form of eternity
I beg you don’t let me alone in isolation

Adnan Almafrachi
1/5/2012

As long as you have followed the stretches horizon to the impossible
And as long as you have hold the morning sleeping in the arm of happiness
